Let me just start by telling you I say the title of the post in the rhythm of Gucci Mane's classic song, photoshoot. If you have no idea what I'm talking about just click the link and thank me later. On to the post. I've mentioned a few times that I'm finally getting my branding together. One thing on my checklist is to take professional photos that reflect my personality and my aesthetic. The idea of working with a legit photographer is beyond me.... I've had friends take photos of me for style post but its always super chill... no pressure. Again, like my last post its a moment when I ask myself "Who do I think I am?" Rihanna?
I found a photographer by the name of Emari Traffie. I peeped some of her work for Dimepiece LA and loved her portfolio. It was one of those "oh she'll really get me" type of moments. Besides the fact I'm terrible at posing, I have a bigger issue.. figuring out what the hell to wear. I've been going through this "I have nothing to wear" phase for the last few months, so planning out looks for this is an ultimate struggle. In true Laci fashion I created a mood board to help think of what story I want to tell with these photos. The board is secret but I pulled some of the main images that I'm really feeling.
Obviously I'm going for my usual androgynous/street culture look but I really want to make sure I'm showing my personality/attitude and not just saying "hey look at my shoes aren't they cool". I'm really excited about this, even though I have no idea what what I'm doing and I can't wait to show you guys the finished product.
On a complete sidenote I've been really focused on just making shit happen. I lost a good friend last week and his death really affected me. It reminded me how short life really is and I don't have long to get my shit together and make an positive impact... just like he did. So thats my focus, anything that I've even thought about doing, I'm going to do it. Head first, not holding back. If there's anything you've been putting off or honestly bullshitting about, stop.. and just do it because time waits for no one. But anyway... if you have any advice for my lack of posing or shooting with a photographer let ya girl know. I'm almost 100% sure I'm just going to do rapper poses.... but still... let me know.
