United Airlines hosted a contest titled “Her Art Here” an opportunity for women artists to create on a huge canvas – an airplane.
The prompt was to create a design that represents a specific coast (California or New York) represents women, connectivity, and the United brand.
For my design I wanted to create something that feels coastal but not a super literal expression of California. No matter what area of California you visit you get a whimsical “free” vibe from each location.
I wanted my design to have a very whimsical relaxed vibe and also give an abstract view of women connected by design elements.
The design made it to the finalists round of the competition which also included a public vote. At the time of this post the competition is still in progress. I’ll update with final results
